Coming to terms with our appearance is something we all face.
At times, all we can see are the flaws and the faults, but they are often things only we notice.
For our kids, they look to us as role models about many things including our relationship to our appearance and how we feel about ourselves.
Embrace who you are and what you look like – a healthy attitude to our appearance means so much to building self-confidence in our kids!

From my experience Group Projects are one of those things that nobody likes.
They’re soooo painful to be involved in, and yet they keep being assigned, especially at high school…and we all know, there’s usually one person in the group that ends up getting lumped with all the work, right?
I asked some colleagues who used to work with Grace’s Dad what he was like working in a group and they provided the “gem” of this episode, saying he was always a “Yes, and” person.

Sometimes we take on more than we can manage.
Kids these days have so many wonderful opportunities available to them don’t they? But that can also come with a kind of pressure to ‘do it all’…or the feeling that they’ll be missing out on something if they cut back on activities – the dreaded FOMO!
And when kids enter High School, all the sports and extracurricular activities they did through Primary School no longer fit neatly into the day or week.
Of course as parents, we all want to encourage kids to pursue activities they enjoy but each year in High School there is a real increase in demand for their time doing assignments and homework too.
In episode 3: CHOICES we hold a mirror up to Grace’s regular week and she realises something’s got to give.

😱 DEALING WITH FEARS 😱 We’ve all got them and it’s how we deal with our fears that matters right? Calling on Dad when I get stuck always seems to help me figure out what to do…and it helps keep Dad alive for me too. ⭐
He was always so good at helping me put things in perspective when he was alive and he still is – I just think “What would Dad tell me?” and I can hear the pearls of wisdom (and sometimes the bad Dad jokes too 😹) that I know he’d be coming out with if he was around now…
I’d love to know what works for other peeps when it comes to managing fears and anxiety? Got someone to talk to who helps put things in perspective?
